Surfboard Blanks

Surfboard blank or foam blank is used to make the core of surfboards. It is polyurethane or EPS foam. Polyurethane foam come with a wooden stringer in the middle to increase the blank's rigidity, prevents its twisting and help the shaper to work. EPS foam are stringerless, as they must be laminate with a carbon reinforcement in the middle. Our surfboard blanks are available crude or pre-shaped. To pre-shape your board, we use a 4 axis CNC router to obtain its near-final form.

Frequently asked questions about foams and pre-chapes

What is a preshape ?

A preshape is a surfboard in surf in its raw material. It is a raw foam that we have gone through a numerical control machine that has left the shape of the future surfboard. That is to say, it is not a finished board, but it is the base to be able to manufacture your own surfboard .

If I buy a pre shape how will I receive it ?

When you buy a pre shape , the table you will receive is the foam cut with the measurements you have requested. It 's a surfboard but it is not yet laminated or sanded.

That is, you are going to finish shaping it yourself to be able to go to the water.

Should I choose the same pre-shape size from the table that I want to have finished ?

Yes. If, for example, you want a 5'11 board, you have to ask for a pre-shape of the same size, since when sanding the notches of the shape machine, they are not so noticeable as to reduce the size of the board from surfing .
